11U Dixie Little League Takes Down Wylie

Little League baseball could be considered the purest form of the sport because kids are playing for the love of the game.

Saturday night the 11-U Dixie Little League and Wylie Little League faced off.

Dixie had some very hot bats in this game.

Beckham Paul got things started for Dixie with a deep shot to the corner in left field for the lead off ground rule double.

Two batters later, Dixie's Zack Burrow brought Paul home when he slammed a two run bomb off of the green monster in center field.

Dixie takes a 2-0 lead, and they stayed hot.

Drake Womack absolutely crushed a ball out of the park and into the parking lot for a solo shot putting Dixie up 3-0.

Wylie did score one run, and tried to stay in it, but they wouldn't be able to get back in it.

The Dixie bats never cooled off tonight, but Wylie's heated up. At the bottom of the fifth, Dixie led 8-1, but Wylie fought hard.

Dixie does end up taking this one 10-8, as Wylie made it close.
