Breckenridge Falls to Corpus Christi Padre 11-4

The Texas West State Tournament continued Sunday, and at the Junior level, Breckenridge struggled against Corpus Christi Padre.

Padre took advantage early on, especially in the first inning.

Matthew Krall got things started for Padre with a fly ball that landed in shallow center. Christian Laridis came home, and Padre took a 1-0.

In the same inning, Jose Guevara ripped a line drive through the 5-6 hole. Krall crossed the plate, and it was 3-0 Padre with the lead.

The led 4-1 going into the third when Breckenridge answered.

Aaryn Medina crushed one to the fence in center field scoring Geraldo Palacios for a standup double. Breckenridge trailed 4-2 and were trying for a rally.

However, Padre took the game 11-4, and seven of those runs were un-earned.

Breckenridge will have to fight through the losers bracket now starting Monday afternoon at five.
