The Junior Little League State Championship game Tuesday morning featured Breckenridge from the loser's bracket and Corpus Christi Padre from the winner's bracket.
Breckenridge needed a win to force a second game.
Breckenridge got things going in the first game when Jake Escalon knocked a grounder through the 5-6 hole scoring Owen Woodward from third, so Breckenridge led 1-0.
No one scored again until the fifth when Padre's Christian Gomez hit the fielder's choice to short, but Breckenridge overthrew first and a Padre run came home, so the game is tied at one.
In the bottom of the frame, D'Andrey Silva hammered one all the way over the fence in center field for a solo shot.
Breckenridge led 2-1, and they fought hard to take the game 4-2 and force another game.
Game two was a little different.
This one was an offensive battle but it was Padre who took the game 18-8 to clinch the Junior Little League State Championship.
