The Cowboys' bus rolled into town today with bus driver Emory, Rowdy the mascot, and our Cowboys insider Mickey Spagnola.
Mickey said, "it was a great stop, a huge crowd...and I guarantee you there were as many people today here in Abilene last year when they came off a good season so it's a really good indication that there are a lot of die hard Cowboys fans out there in this country."
Some of those die hard fans will be able to see the bus as it rolls through their town on the way to training camp in Oxnard, California.
"Cowboys have a pro shop in Lubbock and they called and said hey why don't you stop with us, so we're making a little bit of a detour to go to Lubbock, then there's a pro shop in El Paso."
After the bus leaves Texas it will stop in a select few towns to interact with Cowboys fans outside of the Lone Star State.
Mickey said, "Then we just found out that there are fan clubs in other cities so we stopped where the fan clubs are, and this year someone twisted our wrists and we're going to stop in Vegas now we're going out of our way to do that but we figured oh what the heck then we're on to California. There's a fan club in LA then on to Oxnard."
And Mickey and the guys on the bus are hoping the crowds will compare to the one here in Abilene.
Mickey said, "In the next couple of stops in Lubbock and in Midland if we can draw this many people it would be fantastic."
