Cisco, Albany, Baird and Roscoe are featured in the no. 13-15 BCH Sports Top Matchups for the 2016 season.
The first game in our look at the Top Match Ups of 2016 is a duel between Class 3A powerhouses Cisco and Wall.
The two teams met in 2014 and 2015 and split those meetings. Each winning on their home field. This year, Cisco enters the 2016 season as the favorite to win District 4-3A Div. II, and they are ranked number seven in the state by Texas Football Magazine.
Wall is also picked to win its district, and they are the sixth ranked team in the state in Class 3A Division I. The last two meetings have been good, and we expect more quality in our 15th best match up of the 2016 season.
Number 14 in our countdown of the Top Match Ups of the 2016 is Baird visiting Albany in Week 8 of the season.
Albany is coming off back to back appearances in the state championship game, and they are bringing back eight starters from a very good defense. Baird is becoming a team to be dealt with in the Big Country with 13 starters back from last season's district runner up.
Albany and Baird are picked one and two in the district, so this meeting on October 14th could be for the Disdtrict 6-2A Division II championship.
We go to Week 9 when Roscoe and Seagraves meet for the Number 13 in the BCH Sports countdown of the best match ups of 2016.
The district title should be settled in this game, too. The Plowboys burst back onto the scene in 2015 with a district championship and a trip to the third round of the playoffs.
Head coach Jake Freeman's offense averaged 48 points in the final eight games of the season, and quarterback Brayden Beal is back to lead the charge. Seagraves is favored to win the district after coming one game short of the state championship game in 2016. Both teams have 10 positions filled with returning starters.
