    Coaches Preparing for Football Season

We've been talking about the high school football players this summer and what they are doing to get ready for the upcoming season, but what about the coaches?

Some folks may think they just show up on the day of the first practice and get to work, but that's not true.

At Wylie, head coach Hugh Sandifer and his staff host camps at the school, and they are getting things ready for the kids to show up on Monday.

"Our coaches have been working very hard all summer, we have strength and conditioning with the kids. We're pretty used to what we're doing. I mean our staff's pretty consistent, we've been here together a long time, so we don't have to really cover a lot of things that a lot of young staffs or new staffs have to do, but we still want to get our minds back," Sandifer said. "Get it set on our offense and defensive schemes, practice schedules, personnel. Just the things you got to do to get ready to start practice cause the kids have been working so very hard, and we want to make sure they know we've been working just as hard and have a great deal of anticipation for the season."

The first day of practice for the new season for every school except Abilene High and Cooper is this coming Monday.

The Eagles and the Cougars start on the following Monday.
