BCH Sports Top Match Ups: No. 4 - No. 6

The Crosstown Showdown, Wylie, Cisco, and Coleman are featured in games four, five, and six in the BCH Sports Top Match Ups of 2016.

If the Crosstown Showdown was a district game, it would most likely be our number one game, but it's non-district, so it is number six. Abilene High and Cooper meet for the 57th time in week three of the season and it's a non-district game for just the fifth time. Both schools are picked to win district championships this year. Abilene High is favored to win District 3-6A and Cooper is expected to win District 4-5A. The showdown is always a fun game to watch because passions run at such a high level, but the last four of the last 5 games have been blowouts. Look for a much closer game in 2016.

Game number five in the countdown this year is between the Wylie Bulldogs and the Argyle Eagles. This is another game that would be higher if it meant more in the regular season. Wylie and Argyle met twice in 2015. Once in the season opener and again the Class 4A Division I semi-finals. The Eagles won both games. This year, Argyle enters the season ranked number one by Texas Football Magazine, and the Bulldogs are number five. Their week four showdown at Bulldog Stadium should be a good one.

Coleman hosts Cisco in game number four of our Top Match Ups in 2016. The Loboes are the highest ranked Class 3A team in the Big Country, but Class 3A Division II newcomer Coleman should give Cisco a run for its money for the district championship. Head coach Brent West's team start the year ranked seventh in the state, and John Elder and his Bluecats, who have 17 positions filled with returning starters, are eighteenth to start 2016. This is the second game in district play for both teams, and it could decide the championship.
