The Abilene High Eagles finally got on the field on Monday to start getting ready for the 2016 season.
Head coach Del Van Cox and his team are really happy to be back on the field this year.
They are picked to win their new district, and eleven starters are back from last year's playoff team.
AHS head coach Del Van Cox said, "It feels great to be back out and get our here with the guys and just have all the guys back from the summer and from their vacations. It just good to be back working towards the goals we've been working towards since January. Having the experience to come back is huge because we were looking at our Copperas Cove the other day, last week how far we've come since then in our skill position is tremendous, so that's a huge benefit."
Abilene High scrimmages Copperas Cove on August 19 at Shotwell Stadium.
They start the 2016 season at San Angelo Central on August 26th.
