    Good Approach Key for Cougars

The Cooper Cougars and head coach Todd Moebes are hard at work to return to the playoffs for the tenth year in a row.

The Cougars start the new season way ahead of the curve with fifteen starters back from a team that advanced to the third round of the palyoff in 2015.

Experience is nice, but more importantly, coach Moebes likes the way his guys approach the game.

Todd Moebes said, "It's easy to go out here at practice when it's the first day. What's it going to be on day four, five, six, fifteen, that type of stuff. I think the maturity of this group, the chemistry that they have right now, is what gets me excited the most."

Austin Smith said, "There are a lot of returners and there's a lot more of just knowing what we know what we are doing mentality with these guys. Everybody knows what they are doing, and they're ready to make plays. They're just ready to go out their and ball with us."

The Cougars are the favorites to win the District 4-5A championship over Lubbock Cooper.

The put the pads on Friday and scrimmage San Angelo Central in San Angelo on August 19.
