    Bulldogs Learned from Thursday's Scrimmage

We've been talking it since late June, but the time has finally come.

The 2016 high school football season starts this week.

The Wylie Bulldogs are one of the Big Country teams that's supposed to make some noise in Class 4A Division I this year.

Their first action came last week against San Angelo Lake View.

The Bulldogs dominated the Chiefs, and head coach Hugh Sandifer and the players like what they saw.

Hugh Sandifer said, "Really good bright spots that we saw that we hoped that we would see, but the best thing about that is we got out of a scrimmage a lot of plays, played 57 kids in the scrimmage and nobody got hurt, so that's our number one goal."

Cameron Hanna said, "Look at ourselves on film, and look at areas or our game that we can improve on, and areas that we did well, so it's always good whenever you can finally get to see yourself on film and get to play somebody else."

Conor Widden said, "We did a lot of things right, and then there's things that we can definitely improve on and get better for this week."

Wylie starts the new season on the road this week.

They head north to Vernon to face the Lions on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
