2016 Can't Start Soon Enough For Cooper

It's finally game week for Cooper and Abilene High.

Cooper is loaded with 15 starters back from a team that went to the third round of the playoffs in 2015, and they are looking to improve on that performance.

Head coach Todd Moebes' crew is very experienced, and they are ready to get the new season started on Friday night against Keller.

"It's great. It's certainly new energy bounce from our players to our coaching staff, everyone involved," Moebes said. "You know you have spring ball and the first two weeks of practice and you're still going against each other, now there seems to be a new rejuvinated life because they know they get to go play somebody else on Friday and this one's for keeps."

Cooper's season starts on Friday night against Keller at 7:30 p.m.

Their game with the Indians is the second game of the Champions Classic at Shotwell Stadium.
