Cougars Not Resting On 2015 Success

The Cooper Cougars are at home to play Keller in the Champions Classic at Shotwell Stadium on Friday night.

The Cougars are coming off a trip to the third round of the playoffs in 2015, and fifteen starters are back from that team.

It would be easy to rest on the success of last year, but that's now what's happening at Cooper.

Austin Smith said, "Since we are always striving for more, and we're always wanting to get better, and we're not just going to hang our heads and sit on what we've got. We're always going to want to move to the next level and just keep moving forward."

Zach Goodson said, "We've been here since our sophomore year, so we're hungry. We want more. Third round last year wasn't enough for us, so we're just ready to keep moving. We know where we're supposed to be and when we're supposed to be there. We can kind of coach each other up, rather than have the coaches holler at us all day."

Cooper takes on Keller to start the season.

This is the third meeting all-time between the two schools.

The Cougars are 0-1-1 against the Indians.
