Abilene High Falls To San Angelo Central

The Abilene High Eagles were moved out of the little southwest conference this year, but they keep some of the rivalries alive in non-district by visiting San Angelo Central in their season opener.

Early in the first quarter... Cal Vincent runs for the 32 yard touchdown and Central scores in the blink of an eye. The Cats take the 7-0 lead.

Next time with the ball it's Vincent again, this time using his arm. He finds Adam West and that's a 69 yard connection as Central rolls on to a 14-0 lead.

At the end of the first quarter... Abilene gets on the board and no surprise who's got the ball. Abram Smith from 18 yards out makes it a 14-7 game, and the Cats still lead.

The Cats continue the offensive attack, Vincent with the pitch to Daven Manning... The senior running back takes it 72 yards to the house and it's 35 to 7.

On the next Abilene possession, look who it is, Smith takes this one and takes off...he goes all of 74 yards for the touchdown cutting the Cats lead 35 to 14.

And the score from San Angelo stadium... San Angelo Central dominates the Eagles 63 to 26.

Abilene High plays its home opener next week at Shotwell Stadium against former district rival Midland Lee.
