Number 18 Eastland took on the Merkel badgers in action on Friday night.
In the first quarter with Eastland on offense, Mason Wright in the shotgun and he looks left, looks right but he can't find anyone. He scrambles and makes a defender miss, so he threw back towards Parker Roberts. Zach Owens steps in front of the pass a pick-six for the Badgers.
Later in the first quarter, Eastland still trailing but not for long. Wright fakes the hand off to his running back who keeps it and it's a race to the goal line. Eastland goes back on top and that's how the game would stay.
18th ranked Eastland blows past Merkel in their home opener with a final score of 50 to 6.
