The 7th ranked Sweetwater Mustangs opened their season with Wichita Falls Friday night, and got the result they wanted.
After a recovered fumble on the opening kickoff, Chris Thompson ends the mustang opening drive with a 10 yard run into the end zone, and a two point conversion makes the score 8-0 Mustangs.
Wichita Falls tried to get things going, but Cornelius Phillips's pass is picked off by Javier Olguin.
Olguin returns it 33 yards before he's knocked out of bounds which set the Mustangs up for Chris Thompson to drop back and pass to Kiante McCoy in the end zone.
Another two point conversion brings the Mustangs up 16-0 in the end of the first quarter.
