Bulldogs' First Win on the Board

We start with high school football. The Wylie Bulldogs are one of the teams in the Big Country that got the season started off with a victory, but it wasn't easy.

Hugh Sandifer's guys trailed 9-0 nothing to Vernon in the 4th quarter, but came back to score the final fifteen points of the game to get the win.

It wasn't pretty, but the Bulldogs say it's good to get that first win on the board and out of the way.

Hugh Sandifer said, "Well it's definitely a good feeling to get a win. There's obviously a lot of areas of concern after the first game and you can improve on, but to be down and to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win the game. I was proud of the way the kids fought back and got a win."

Brooks Pepper said, "It's a good feeling, but we still have to come out and make some adjustments, but it's good to have a win under our belt and come out the next week even more confident in what we're doing."

Kade Ancell said, "It feels good getting those first jitters out. Actually being, this is a real game."

The Bulldogs continue the season on Friday night with a trip up to Lubbock this week.

They take on Lubbock Monterey at 7:30 p.m.
