Abilene Ready To Take On Midland Lee

The Abilene High Eagles play their first game of the season at home against former district rival Midland Lee tomorrow night. The Eagles lost their opener last week in San Angelo 63 to 26, and they are planning to show that last week was a fluke with a good performance against the rebels.

"We just took that as a chip on our shoulder into practice, and just knowing we have to get better along team standards, just go out and do our thing," Qua'Shawn Washington said. "We just know we've got to be better."

"Just coming out and playing hard, we didn't do that very well last week," Jayton Voss said. "We came back and did a lot of work this week and we're ready to play this Friday."

"It's a good time to learn lessons early in the year, because that was not the way we wanted to start and our kids want to prove they're the better team than what showed up last Friday night," Del Van Cox said. "They're ready to get back on the field against Lee Friday night."

Abilene High takes on Midland Lee tomorrow night, and that game is set to start at 7:30.
