    Week 2 Class 4A Results

We'll start with the 9th ranked Wylie Bulldogs. They were on the road taking on Lubbock Monterey.

Monterey led 3-0, but after a 37-yard gain by Zach Smith. Smith then decided to take it into the endzone himself, and Wylie took a 7-3 lead.

However, Monterey had an answer. Brylon Lawson cut around the outside and fell over the goal line for a three yard touchdown run putting the Plainsmen up 10-7.

Then Wylie was inside their own 10 when this happens, Smith's pass is picked off by defensive lineman Thomas Calvillo, and he walks it in for a Montery touchdown.

The Bulldogs have yet to get their first win as they fall 37-23 to the Plainsmen. They're 2-0 on the season.

The 5th ranked Sweetwater Mustangs visited the Big Spring Steers on Friday night.

At the start of the 2nd quarter, it was Sweetwater's ball and QB Chris Thompson carried the ball himself and ran about 30 yards for a touchdown.

Sweetwater went for the two point conversion with a short pass to Jordan McGee, and it works. The Mustangs lead 28-7.

On Big Spring's next drive they were trying for a pass, but it was intercepted by Hunter Mobley who runs it back for the touchdown and Sweetwater leads 34-7.

The Mustangs are 2-0 to start the season after the 60-24 win over Big Spring.

Other 4A scores from Friday night include Muleshoe and Snyder, and Snyder lost that one 54-21.

The Brownwood Lions took on Graham, and that was a close game, but it was Brownwood who came away with the 34-30 win.
