Silver Star Nation: Adding Sanchez to the Depth

Welcome back to another season of our Silver Star Nation reports on the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will undergo a few more tests on the L1 compression fracture of his vertebrae before the Cowboys decide if they'll keep him on the 53 man roster or if they'll put him on injured reserved recall.
Those tests should be concluded in a few days, and let's let Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett explain why the Cowboys signed eighth year quarterback Mark Sanchez as the Cowboys verteran backup to rookie Dak Prescott.

Jason Garrett said, "He was a very successful college quarterback. We played against him in our division, so we've seen him up close, so he's an experienced guy who has a lot of ability. He can move around, he can throw the football, and he's had success in this league, and we thought it was a good opportunity for us to add to the depth at our quarterback position, and when he was availible it certainly was a good opportunity to bring him here."

Garrett did leave out one other key factor. There weren't any other experienced quarterbacks on the waiver wire. I'm Mickey Spagnola, and we'll be with you every day during the season on the Silver Star Nation.
