AHS and CHS Ready For Crosstown Showdown

The Crosstown Showdown is almost here folks! The Eagles and Cougars are getting ready to play tomorrow night in what some players say is the biggest game of the season.

Both schools have been having spirit week celebrations to get the fans and the teams pumped up, and it all rides on the game on Friday night. So what's it like for the players leading up to the game?

Jwan Hong said, "Energy is very high. It was very intense in practice. We look hungry, and we are definitely showing the intensity against each other and also around the school. We can just tell by the energy in the way everybody is carrying themselves walking around school."

Dackota Triano said, "It's kind of the most important unimportant game, because it's bragging rights for the whole year. And it's cool to see all of my friends that get to participate with us so it's fun to see."

Terreon Paige said, "It's pretty exciting to see everybody getting all geeked up and all crazy about the rivalry. Seeing all of the funny things and how they dress."

Raequawn Millsap said, "It's been pumping us up having all of our fans and the school supporting us. I know all of us are ready to get out there and show out for our school."

Daytan Mora, "People have been talking about it every single day since school started. The atmosphere has changed since then, but we are gonna be prepared for this game."

Qua'Shawn Washington said, "that's going to be fun, just going heads up with them because we're all friends, and we see each other almost every other day so, knowing that we get to beat them, it'll be a good feeling."

The Crosstown Showdown kicks off tomorrow night at 7:30 at Shotwell Stadium.
