Bulldogs Use Run Game in Win Over Denison

The Wylie Bulldogs picked up their second win of the season on Friday night by beating Denison, 28-14.

The Bulldogs used a strong running game to get it done. Head coach Hugh Sandifer's team rushed for 283 yards and three of the teams scores came on the ground. That's a season high and a total team effort.

"Our backs had an opportunity to hit the line of scrimmage and then make a cut whereas we've been having some trouble with that, so yeah we want to run the football," Sandifer said. "We like to control the game somewhat with the run, and then I think it allows us to open up the game with our pass."

"We moved Cade Parmalee over to guard, so we felt like we could just run behind him, and we did successfully all game, and then like the line," Cameron Hanna said. "We worked all week on base block, trap, and it just ended up working really well."

Dion Novil said, "the offensive line did a really good job as far as like the run game and pass protection, and I feel like our backs just capitalized on that."

The Bulldogs are back at home on Friday night and the competition takes a step up. Regional power Argyle is coming to town for a 7:30 kickoff.
