The Abilene High Eagles are looking like they are going to be a tough team to beat the rest of the season.
They rebounded from their Week 1 loss to San Angelo Central and dominated Midland Lee and Cooper in back to back weeks.
The Eagles are playing well, and they plan to continue their improvement in their final warm up against Odessa before district play starts.
Abram Smith said, "We're feeling pretty good, we've played the last couple of games well. Coming into week 4 now we're feeling pretty strong about our team and now we just got to go out there and execute the stuff we know."
Peyton Killam said, "We're definitely feeling confident right now that we got these last two wins and so I feel like we definitely can get on a roll and start playing the football we know how to play."
Coach Del Van Cox said, "You just got to make sure we focus on us getting better, going out to Odessa, you've got to survive everything that goes on out there. It's definitely a challenge for us to make sure we're right mentally."
Abilene High's final non-district game is against Odessa High Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
The Eagles have won 36 of the 51 meetings with Odessa, including 12 of the last 13.
