    Eagles Ready for District

Head coach Del Van Cox's team dominated Odessa High to pick up their third straight win on Friday.

The Eagles exploded for 32 first quarter points and ended up taking the game, 53-7. That's the end of the non-district season for Abilene High. Now, it's time for the games that count. It's district time, and Cox says his guys are ready to go.

"There's a sense of urgency. It's time to take it up a notch," Cox said. "We are making sure we've got what we like to do on offense and defense, so now, it's just time to make sure you prepare yourself to play at a fast pace and be ready to go. The guys know. They've been working since January. Now the games that they are working toward are the ones that count. They know what's at stake and be ready to play."

It begins for the Eagles on Friday. They start down the road to the District 3-6A championship in Haltom at 7:30 p.m.
