Mustangs Score Any Way They Can

The Sweetwater Mustangs are on a roll right now. They're 4-0, 1-0 in district and they scored 80 points last week against Pecos. What are they going to do to keep that momentum rolling?

Chris Thompson said, "Keep the practices good every week, just keep rolling and stay going hard."

Kobe Clark said, "It starts in practice. The coaches always push us hard, so we just do what they tell us to do, and we just keep grinding."

Brianne said, "When I saw that Sweetwater scored 80 points against Pecos I thought, wow, what an incredibly high powered offense, which it is, but then you look at the stats, and you see they were defensive touchdowns, special teams touchdowns, it was a full team effort in the 80 points they scored. A school record for the Sweetwater Mustangs."

Shane Mobley said, "This past Friday night, we did score a lot of points offensively, but there was other aspects of the game that we also scored in that kind of started to add up the points. Rack them up a little bit."

Like coach said, the offense was as productive as they should have been, and the defense gave them a little help.

Mobley said, "Our defense did a great job of giving the offense short yardage. We didn't have to go very far all night long."

Clark said, "Our defense, we came out and we had some turnovers. That was a big part of the game."

Scoring 80 points was a full team effort, defense, special teams and the offense doing it's job, and that kind of performance keeps giving the Mustangs more confidence

Thompson said, "We have a high powered offense. It was a great feeling to score 80, set a school record, and it boosted our confidence a lot."
