    AHS Eagles Receivers Stepping Up

The Abilene High Eagles are set to continue district 3-6A play tomorrow night, and when they get to Shotwell Stadium, they are going to bring a pretty good passing attack with them.

The Eagles are spreading the ball around this year. 10 different players have receptions, 4 have 10 or more and 6 are over the 100 yard mark.

So, why is this group of receivers doing so well?

"It all came from last year, we were all young and we were just barely learning the basics," senior receiver Bryce McGough said. "Now we're catching on and it's more of like just backyard football, easy, throwing catch."

"It's been good because out in practice we've been working hard and running our routes hard, and it just transfers over to the game and we're able to get PK (Peyton Killam) extra yards and help him have a good game," junior receiver Raekwon Millsap said. "Our line is holding it up front so it's been good."

Senior receiver Qua'Shawn Washington said, "Blocking downfield, protecting the ball, that's pretty much it honestly. Just executing at a fast pace."

The Eagles are back at home this week to face Keller Fossil Ridge. These two teams were picked one and two in the district in the preseason.
