The Abilene Christian Panthers at Curly Hays Field to face Rising Star Friday night, and the Panthers got hot early.
On their first drive it was a very long play. Cole Snogdrass took the pitch, and after several attempts to throw downfield, he decided to keep it and run all the way to the house putting the Panthers on the board early.
During the next ACHS dirve it was Snodgrass again. This time he does pass and connected with Daniel Sherman who turned up the speed and jets his way past the goal line for another Panther touchdown.
Rising Star did try to make something happen. Colton Edwards connected on a sweet pass with Micah Carnley and he just steps out of bounds, but that was good for a Wildcat first down.
The Panthers kept adding to that score as they take it 46-0 by the mercy rule.
The other 6-man game going on Friday night, the Highland Hornets taking on the Moran Bulldogs.
Early in the first quarter, Tristan Rawlings leveled a defender on his way to the endzone to put Highland up 14-6.
On the next drive Randell Laird ran to the outside and couldn't be caught by the Hornets' defense on his way for the score.
Highland started rolling though, quarterback Jon Basye faked the handoff to Rawlings, but then finds him wide open in the middle of the field. He nearly pulled away but goes down at the one.
Just a couple plays later, senior Clyde Dent got the carry and rolls across the goalline for a 28-12 lead.
Another big win in the 6-man world. Highland takes it 64-18.
