Head coach Del Van Cox's team dominated Fossil Ridge in a game that was supposed to feature the top 2 teams in the district.
The Eagles' defense was impressive on Friday night. They picked off three of the Panthers passes and recovered a fumble and held an offense that was averaging over 40 points a game to 16.
Coach Cox said, "You got to be in the right spot, but then when you've got the chance, you want to be able to create those turnovers," Cox said. "Our kids are doing a great job of creating turnovers, and we are putting our offense in a great position. You can look at all of the stats, and they led us in every stat category, but points and turnovers. We won both of those battles, and those are the ones that count."
The Eagles are headed back on the road this weekend in district 3-6A play.
They take on Keller Central at 7:30 on Friday night.
