    AHS Conversation: Eagles Not Satisfied

AHS head coach Del Van Cox talked to David about the Eagles' defense and keeping the momentum going.

David Robinett said, "Coach Cox, another good week for you team. You jumped right on top of them, and defensively, forced a lot of turnovers. Tell me your initial reactions to Friday night's game."

AHS head coach Del Van Cox said, "Well, it was a big win for our kids. Our coaches did a great job of getting our kids a game plan. Our kids did an even better job of executing it. It was definitely a great win for a district win for us."

Robinett said, "Defensively, you gave up some yards, but you also forced a whole bunch of turnovers, picking off three passes and forcing one fumble. How important is it for a team to be able to stop a team and get turnovers?"

Cox said, "Stats are very deceiving. The only stats that matter are the points and turnovers. They turned it over to us, and we were fortunate enough to put points on the board. That's definitely a big part of the game. It's some thing that we tell our offensive guys. We can't put our defensive guys in a bad position by turning th ball over. It's really important to take care of the football."

Robinett said, "Five wins in a row, it seems like you guys are getting to the top of your game. Is that an accurate assessment?"

Coach Cox said, "Hopefully. Hopefully, we continue to get better and make sure that we are not satisfied with where we are at. One bad game doesn't make your season, and one good game doesn't make your season, so it's definitely, we got to keep building and get to where we want to be."
