The Brownwood Lions are one of three Big Country Class 4A schools in the second round of the playoffs.
The Lions 2016 season started with a bunch of close calls, but lately they are clicking and winning their games by an average of 31 points.
It's been a good run, and they excited about their chance to claim an area championship on Friday night.
Coach Kyle Maxfield said, "Oh it's an exciting time of the year. This is why you work so hard from the first day of August till now is to reap the benefits like our kids did last week."
McLane Moore said, "We're just looking forward to the opportunity, we're all real excited. We got the first playoff win under our belt, it feels good, we're all excited to keep going and hopefully roll on."
JT Jones said, "We don't win games without being intense and playing Brownwood football like we know how to play. If we let our intensity down then the game is theirs. That's what we're known for, intensity and hitting hard."
Brownwood takes on Andrews tomorrow night in San Angelo at 7 p.m.
The Lions knocked Andrews out in the second round last year.
