The Sweetwater Mustangs got some revenge in the second round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs last week.
They thumped Krum to avenge their playoff off loss in 2015. Krum shut the Mustangs out last year, but this time, Chris Thompson and Jacoby Hunt combined for almost 400 total yards and five touchdowns in the 40-14 victory.
Oh sweet, revenge.
Chris Thompson said, "It felt great, the O-line did great. All week we were talking about pounding the ball, and when Jacoby had 200+ yards, it just sparked everybody."
Jacoby Hunt said, "Just executed the plan. The plan was to run down the middle and that's what we did. The line did great. I just had to make my cuts and run pretty much."
Shane Mobley said, "Chris is, every game he gets more, you know, smarter and smarter and smarter. There's a couple times he could have thrown the ball and he took it and he ran, you know, got the guaranteed yards. It really opened up for Jacoby, so that combination back there with them two right now is something special."
Sweetwater continues the playoffs on Friday in Graham.
They take on Glen Ross at 2 p.m.
