    DeSoto Beats Abilene High In Comeback Win


    AHS traveled to Wichita Falls on Friday evening to take on number 3 ranked DeSoto.



    The Eagles easily controlled the first half of the game, with Qua'Shawn Washington punching it in first, and Isaac Buenrrostro with the pick six on DeSoto's first drive.



    After DeSoto got a slice of the pie with a touchdown late in the first, but Abilene High returned the favor with one of their famous Abram Smith TD's.



    In Friday's game, Abram Smith passed Sneezy Beltran's record for All-Time Leading Rusher at Abilene High.



    AHS led DeSoto 31-21 at halftime, but the DeSoto Eagles weren't giving up just yet.



    Their comeback came in the second half. DeSoto trailed AHS 45-35 with 3 minutes left in the game when they scored a touchdown to bring them within 3.



    Abilene High recovered the onside kick, but on the first play Peyton Killam fumbled and it was recovered by DeSoto.



    They scored the final touchdown of the game to bring DeSoto up 49-45.



    But he Eagles couldn't score in the final seconds of the game, and the score would hold there, knocking AHS out of the playoffs.
