Coogs Not Worried About Odd Schedule

The Cooper Cougars baseball team finished the first third of district play with three straight losses and they are now in fourth place in district 4-5A.

The district schedule this week is a little different than the rest of the way. This week, the Cougars play San Angelo Lake View in a home and home series on back to back days.

It's a little unusual, but nothing the Cougars can't handle.

Head Coach Cody Salyers said, "It's really not going to be that different. You know we played three tournaments to start the year, so we played three games in a row. Six games in three days. That's not really going to be a big deal. The big deal is it just gives you an opportunity to see somebody else's pitchers instead of them stacking up the same guy against you everytime you play them."

Austin Smith said, "We're just going to play it like we're supposed to, and just take the first game first then worry about the second game the next day, so we'll just take care of business."

"I mean just prepare as you would any other day. It's just like a tournament or something you're playing one game a day," Zach Goodson said. "I mean yeah it's fun. It's more baseball for us. Two days in a row we don't have practice and get to play, so that's exciting."

The Cougars play Lake View Friday at 5 in San Angelo. They meet again on Saturday at Cougar Field also at 5.
