2017 Top Matchups: DeLeon & Munday Featured

District 7-2A Division I is expected to come down to this game. The sixth-ranked DeLeon Bearcats travel to Crawford to take on the third-ranked Pirates. DeLeon went to state quarterfinals last year and posted an 11-3 season after winning just three games the year before. Head coach David Yeager and his team return fifteen starters from that team, including preseason district MVP Kevin Yeager. Crawford made an appearance in the Class 2A Division state championship game in 2016 and nine positions are filled with starters from that team. Crawford won both meetings between these two last year. DeLeon hopes flip that this year.

The Munday Moguls returned to the top of the heap in district play in 2016, and a another victory over Electra will go a long way to insuring they stay there this year. The Moguls are riding a streak of nine wins over the Tigers in the last ten meetings and they lead the series 15-7. Longtime head coach Patrick Corcoran returns 7 offensive and 5 defensive starters from a state quarterfinalist team. Electra tries to knock the Moguls off their perch in this year's meeting on October 20th.
