Top Matchups: Anson & Breckenridge featured

District 4-4A Division I is expected to come down to the Breckenridge Buckaroos and the Brock Eagles again in the final week of the season. The Eagles fielded their first varsity football team just three years ago, and they have a state championship, three district titles and a total of three loses. Breckenridge is little more established in Texas football history with 637 wins and 45 playoff appearances. Since Brock came on the scene, the Buckaroos have been to the playoffs three times, but haven't managed to bring the Eagles down to earth. This season, head coach Casey Hubble returns six starters on both sides of the ball from a team that advanced to the second round of the playoffs. It's not going to be easy, but the Bucks plan to pick up their first win over Brock and claim that district crown.

That same week, Anson travels to Post for what Texas Football Magazine expects to be the district championship game. Post is picked first, and Anson is right on their tail in second place. Anson came out of no where in 2016 and advanced all the way to the Class 2A quarterfinals. Twelve positions are filled with starters coming into the new season, and seven of those are on the defensive side of the ball. The returners know they can beat Post because they did last year. The Tigers dominated the Antelopes to the tune of 48-21. That victory seemed to catapult head coach Chris Hagler's team to their five week run in the postseason. We find out if they can do it against this year on November
