    Cougars open strong in opener

Cooper got the season off to a great start with a 48-35 victory over Keller on Friday night.
The offense helped lead the way in the scoringfest.
Running back Tyrees Whitfield and receiver Myller Royals combined for 6 touchdowns and over 300 total yards of offense.
Defensively, the Cougars forced three turnovers. It was a good performance and it's good to get the first win on the board.
Head coach Todd Moebes said, "That's certainly what you plan and prepare for is to go out and win. I thought our kids played well. I thought we made some big time football plays on both sides of the football. Overall, I thought it was a great effort by our kids. I felt good about the shape they were in coming out of the game, and I thought they did a really fine job."
Cooper comes home for the first time this week for a showdown with Grapevine on Friday night.
The Cougars have a score to settle with the Mustangs who beat them by 54 points last year.
