Plowboys conditioned to move past third round

It is football time in Texas! It's finally game week for the Roscoe Plowboys, and they're excited to get out on the field and show everybody what they've got after a month of hard conditioning in August, harder than any of these guys say they have before.
"We did a lot of conditioning," Junior Martinez said.
"Conditioning is key. We see all these other teams and that's what beat us in the past is just being out of shape," Francisco Garcia said.
"We're not very deep in depth or anything like that, but having people that go both ways, and we've certainly got the talent so just being conditioned to go both ways is the key to this."
"These kids are going to be intense, they're going to play hard, we preach to them constantly, play hard no matter what, play hard," head coach Jake Freeman said.
"You're going to see a team that's going to consistently play hard whether good or bad, they're going to consistently be resilient."
"Intensity, effort, we're going to be doing a lot of that this year," Martinez said. "We're always short again, like last year, so everyone's going to be working their butts off this year."
"Just effort, sheer effort," Garcia said.
"No matter how egregious the other team is or how they perform, we're just going to be able to give them 110% all the way through."
And so far, Coach Freeman is pleased with what he's seen from his guys.
"Just the way the kids are flying around," Jake Freeman said.
"We're not really putting on anything new, we're on year 5 on the offense and defense we've been running, not really a lot of confusion, we're just able to play fast. A confused offense or defense isn't a good one, so we feel like we know exactly what we're going to do, and we can play fast, fly around to the football, and execute well on offense."
Now this is one of the most experienced groups coach Jake Freeman has had in his 5 years here at Roscoe, so he's hoping that the experience these guys have on the field will help them move past the region semifinals and break that third round curse.
