Coogs get redemption over Grapevine with 41-37 win

After losing by 54 points last season to Grapevine, the Cooper Cougars showed that they wouldn't let that happen again on Friday night.

The Mustangs jumped ahead by two touchdowns in the first quarter, but then Cooper got to work.

Sean Watson had the first touchdown reception of the game to tie it up at seven.

Grapevine led 28-21 at halftime, but in the third and fourth quarters it was very back and forth.

Tyrees Whitfield scored his third touchdown of the game for the first play of the fourth quarter giving Cooper a 34-31 lead.

With just over a minute to go Freeman completed a 22-yard pass to Myller Royals to give the Coogs the 41-37 lead that they would try to hold on to.

The Cougars get it done to take down Grapevine with a huge redemption game.

Ender Freeman had the second best passing performance in Cooper history with 466 yards, and he broke the record for completions in a game. He was 41/53.

Myller Royals also broke a record. He broke the all-time single game record for catches with 14 for 189 yards.
