RICHARDSON, Texas – McMurry University sophomore middle blocker Justice McGowan (Waco, Texas / University H.S.) has been named as the American Southwest Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week, it has been announced by the league office. McGowan led the War Hawks to a 2-0 record last week, including a 3-1 win over divisional rival Hardin-Simmons and a 3-0 non-conference sweep of Schreiner.
On the week, McGowan had a healthy .405 attack percentage and averaged 2.86 kills per set. She also booked four blocks.
In the win over HSU, McGowan had a match-high 12 kills and a .333 attack average. Versus SU, she topped the team with eight kills and hit a sterling .538 for the match.
The War Hawks are currently 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the ASC, heading into Tuesday evening’s match at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
