Head coach Del Van Cox's Abilene High Eagles went toe-to-toe with Haltom in a District 3-6A slugfest.
The two teams combined for 56 first half points and end the game with a combined 970 yards of offense.
Losing a game like that can be hard to bounce back from, but coach Cox is confident his guys will do just that this week in Keller.
Del Van Cox said, "Our kids have good character. When you take pride in what you do, you keep competing, and that's what life's all about. That's why football is great. You are going to learn a lot of life lessons playing football. When times are tough, that's when you character shines through. Our kids are going to continue to work because of the character that they have."
The Eagles continue district play on Friday in Keller against Fossil Ridge.
The Panthers are undefeated so far this season.
