ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons’ Kenne Kessler has been named the United Soccer Coaches national player of the week after scoring seven goals over two games for the Cowgirls.
Kessler, who leads the nation in scoring with 24 goals, tied the HSU single-game record with five goals against Belhaven. She has scored at least one goal in all 11 games for the Cowgirls this season and has multiple goals in six of the 11 games.
The HSU school record is 30 goals in a season by Whitney Piendak.
The Cowgirls lead the nation in scoring at 5.73 goals per game. The Cowgirls are ranked No. 6 nationally and are No. 1 in the West Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
