Bulldogs ready to defend their title

The Wylie tennis team is getting ready to play for their second straight state championship in class 4A this week.
Head coach Brent Abilez and his team are dominating teams this year, and rolled in the regional finals without losing a match.
They are rolling, and can't wait to get to College Station to defend their class 4A state championship.
Kaitlyn Hathorn said, "It's kind of, I wouldn't get the experience anywhere else, so it's kind of like once in a lifetime that I have this team."
Brent Abilez said, "The kids knew what they had to do to get back, and they're excited for it because there's not a lot of people that get to experience this in their lifetime, so the kids know that they're fortunate enough to be in a great program, so every year they strive for more."
Zane McCurley said, "It's always exciting getting to compete for the number one spot in Texas, and we always just treat it as another match, but afterwards it definitely means a lot more than that."
The Bulldogs start the state tournament on Wednesday.
As a team, they are 24-1 this season and the clear favorites to win another state championship.
