Warren's Wisdom: Playing for a district title

David Robinett said, "It is time for Warren's Wisdom and the Wylie Bulldogs have a game for all the marbles in their district with Stephenville coming up. Cooper is playing for a shot at a district championship. A lot of schools have that scenario this week. What's that game like if you are at the end of season and this is for the district title?"
Steve Warren said, "All these guys have that as a goal at the end of the season. When you enter the second season, you've got pre-district, non-district schedule, and then you go into the district play. Everybody's goal is to win that gold football. Everything's on the line. You just go out there and go play and see if you can't win that gold football. It's a pretty exciting time. It really is."
Robinett said, "Does it take any of the shine off of it because you are already in the playoffs, or is that still very important?"
Warren answered, "I think it's pretty important because the coaches make it important. A lot of teams are in the playoffs. That takes the pressure off of you. We're already in the playoffs, win or lose. We're gonna play another game. We can do everything we can to win this district championship. For most coaches, that's one of their goals."
We will see how that goes on Thursday and Friday this week."
