Head coach Del Van Cox's team lost last week to Keller, and the loss eliminated them from the playoffs.
The 2017 season was one defined by injuries through out, but Abilene High kept fighting every week. It wasn't the kind of season he wanted, but coach Cox is proud of his teams effort.
Del Van Cox said, "These guys, a lot of frustration. They've been through a lot. Not a lot of things have gone their way, but these guys just kept working. They've had great attitudes in practice and in games. Things haven't gone their way, but they've kept working, and that's what I'm really proud of."
This is a rare occasion for the Eagles.
This is the first time since 1998 the Eagles have no hope of playoff football in the season finale.
