    AHS Conversation:Eagles never gave up

Abilene High head coach Del Van Cox's team lost last week to Keller 35-21 and are eliminated from playoff contention for the just the second time since 1998.
It's been a season plagued by injuries, but the Eagles never gave up, and were in a position to win most of their games. Here's David's conversation with head coach Del Van Cox.
David Robinett said, "Coach Cox, I know Thursday night's game didn't go the way you wanted it to, but it seemed like your players were constantly fighting, never giving up, even when you were down by two touchdowns late,"
AHS head coach Del Van Cox said, "Our kids, through all the things that they've been through, kept playing and kept working hard and practicing. They've had good attitudes. They just know things haven't gone the way the planned it to and sometimes that happens in life."
Robinett said, "How do you approach this week? It's been a while since you guys have been in a game that didn't matter. Are you looking forward? Are you looking to make sure you give the seniors a good send off?"
Coach Cox said, "These guys have put in a lots of work. Some of these guys, it'll be the last time they put on pads. They are playing for a lot. They put in a lot of work to get to this point. We're definitely preparing ourselves and want to finish off on a good note."
Robinett said, "How proud are you of this team?"
Coach Cox said, "I am proud of them. They've been through a lot, but they've handled it well, so it's going to set them up later for life."
