Lions bring momentum into the playoffs

The Brownwood Lions are riding a three game winning streak going into the playoffs, so they've got some good momentum.
Kyle Maxfield said, "We feel good about the last three weeks. Our kids really responded after a bumpy start to district, and it's always good to go into the playoffs on a roll.
Tommy Bowden said, "We know we have to keep working because those past two teams we played, they're at the lower part of our district, so we were expected to win those, but we've got to keep going, but it is huge having that momentum."
This is Brownwood's 9th straight year making the playoffs, so it's not new to them, but it's always exciting. This year they go in as the third seed and have a little something to prove.
Gavin Jefferson said, "We're kind of the underdogs now, so it just makes us strive and want to work hard everytime now since we are third seed."
Brianne Welch said, "There was a span of several weeks this season where the Brownwood Lions had to play on the road, and they were very successful on the road, so travelling hasn't really been a problem this season, and some of the players even like it."
Jefferson said, "It just gets us concentrated, like focused on our game plan and what we're supposed to be doing."
It's a short trip for the Lions. Just an hour and a half up here to ACU, and the kids are excited about playing at Anthony Field.
Jefferson said, "I'm definitely excited to play there because it's a new stadium, and I've always liked ACU."
Bowden said, "The ACU stadium's awesome, so we're all looking forward to it."
The Lions face Wichita Falls Hirschi Friday night at 6:30.
