SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons’ men’s basketball team had a tough shooting tonight in a 76-50 loss at Trinity on Tuesday evening in San Antonio.
HSU went 20-of-63 in the game and Trinity outrebounded the Cowboys 51-36.
Trinity scored the first five points of the game and the Cowboys never led in the contest. The Tigers went up as many as 14 points in the first half before the Cowboys cut it 30-24. Trinity pushed the lead back to 35-24 at halftime.
Caleb Spoon led the Cowboys with 16 points. Danny Rivara had 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Tigers.
The Cowboys are 1-5 on the year. HSU will be at home for the first time on Thursday when it hosts UT Tyler at 7:30 p.m. at the Mabee Complex. Trinity improved to 5-2 on the year.
