Wade Womack of Dripping Springs was named the state’s softball Coach of the Year for Classes 5A and 6A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Womack guided the Tigers to a 35-9 record and their fifth trip to the UIL State Softball Tournament at McCombs Field. Their season ended with a 5-0 loss in a Class 5A semifinal to Willis.
