The Texans appear to have made a quarterback change after the first week.
According to a report by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, Houston is preparing Ryan Mallet as their starting QB for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers in Carolina.
Mallett entered the game to the Chiefs this past Sunday after Brian Hoyer faltered, and he played well. But the Texans still lost the game, 27-20.
Hoyer was 18-34 for 236 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Mallett was 8-13 for 98 years and one TD.
Mallett's passer rating was 110.4, compared to Hoyer's 72.7.
