Craig Roberts returns to KPRC 2 with his 'Daily Craig' column.
(THE INFIELD FLY RULE IS IN EFFECT)
I enjoyed baseball season this year. It ended last night as the local pros known as the Astros lost an entire series to the Ding Bats of Arlington. I know the season isn't technically over as the 162 haven't all been played, but it's over. The Cards and the Blue Jays will make it an ALL BIRD World Series.
How could I have given up so soon you ask?  The final nine home games could be promising BUT I am still convinced the team is done. It's been a good recovery from the horrible seasons we saw before this one. IT JUST WASN'T A GREAT RECOVERY. The 8-1 road trip of that run months ago was the spark. The 2-8 ending last night was the water thrown on that last flame.
With only 16 games in the NF-HELL SEASON a loss in week two all but eliminates hopes of a playoff. Isn't that something. We have barely cleared Labor Day and teams are looking at next spring's draft. Should the TEXANS LOSE TO CAROLINA, THE SEASON IS ON THE BRINK. As we have come to understand certain thing are always said in the league. "We have to fix that." "We have to clean that up." "We know we can be better.". "These guys really work hard." "We make it look much more difficult than it really is." The last quote is the real truth. I gotta make sure the TEXANS OFFENSIVE LINE is better than we think it is.
