The Diamondbacks made it 3-1 in the sixth inning on a single by Welington Castillo that scored A.J. Pollock.
Astros catcher Jason Castro added insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning on a single that scored outfielder Jake Marisnick. Rasmus hit his second home run in the eighth inning.
A home run by Arizona's Paul Godlschmidt made it 6-2 in the eighth inning.
